Apprenticeships with Access Training

We offer Apprenticeships at levels 2-7 in a wide range of occupational areas. We can also offer bespoke provision for employers upon request.
You may have heard about the changes around apprenticeships – particularly the introduction of the apprenticeship standards in 2017, which are designed by employers, and aim to equip employees with the most relevant skills in their industry. These standards cover a wider range of job roles and at increasingly higher levels, and are available for current staff as well as new recruits.
Please click here to view our employer brochure.
Access Training can offer these standards in most of our occupational areas, please see below:

Fire, Emergency & Security Systems
The Fire, Security & Emergency Systems apprenticeship standard has come a long way since the original frameworks were introduced many years ago, and it now has an increased focus on the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become a successful engineer with the ability to install, maintain and repair a variety of electronic security and emergency systems.

Human Resources
The programme covers a wide range of skills in HR processes, ranging from transactional to relatively complex, recruitment through to retirement; using HR systems to keep records, providing relevant HR information to the business, working with the business on HR changes and many more. Knowledge includes: understanding organisation structures, HR legislation and policy, HR team functions and processes, how to deal with HR queries, developing solutions to HR problems and escalating complex issues, maintaining staff details on computer systems and handling sensitive situations professionally and confidentially.

Project Management
The programme covers a wide range of transferable skills such as; planning timelines, allocating and monitoring resources, resolving problems, working to budgets, achieving milestones and many more. Knowledge includes: project management principles, governance and stakeholder management, leadership and communications and financial management.

Marketing
Our Marketing apprenticeship programmes are designed for learners to imagine themselves stepping into a new identity and career path, and for employers to develop talent that makes an impact on the business. The programmes, which are delivered remotely, build real world skills, from campaign planning and content production, through to SEO, analytics and customer insight. Regardless of the delivery style we are always committed to quality and strive for the best making a real difference to both the learner and employer.
An Apprenticeship is a work-based training programme designed around the needs of employers, and are designed to help employees learn both on the job and off the job, developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become the best at what they do.
The length of the programme can vary depending upon the level undertaken. For instance, we would expect the Business Administrator level 3 apprenticeship to take approximately 16 months, while the Fire, Emergency & Security Systems apprenticeship is likely to take 33 months. Previous qualifications and experience is taken into account when planning the content and duration of the individual’s apprenticeship and we would discuss this with you prior to commencement.
We aim to help employers to recruit and develop quality apprentices that make a real difference to their business. Where required, we would help with the recruitment & selection process saving you time and also the associated costs. We would advertise vacancies on your behalf (through our website and the on line ‘Find Apprenticeship Training’ service) and screen candidates before submitting them to you for interview.
We can also help to up-skill your existing employees and can deliver Apprenticeship programmes to help develop the skills of your current team. Why not utilise apprenticeship programmes (and funding through the levy or co-investment) to support your training budget. We would be happy to discuss how apprenticeships can be used to support the development of your current staff.
Wherever possible we will utilise Government funding to support the cost of training your staff, or if you are a levy payer – make use of your digital account. Where this is not available we can provide details of costs.
Benefits to employers
While gaining qualifications is highly desirable, the most important aspect about good training is whether it has an impact on the individual and on your business. Here are some of the benefits that our employers have told us about:
